Australia considers security “US level” to combat terrorism

The Australian government is considering implementing security restrictions and procedures at the United States level after a failed terrorist attempt on July 15. The country’s security officials met to discuss and prepare the measures to be presented at the high summit in the coming weeks.
If passed by government approval, the new safety parameters will greatly restrict the actions of passengers and of course also possible threats. Security has recently been strengthened across the country, with additional measures at major airports in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Cairns, Gold Coast and Hobart.
According to Transport Minister Darren Chester, it was an action “taken as an extra precaution in the face of terrorist threats to Sydney.”
Measures such as limiting liquids, prohibitions on boarding – for domestic routes – without being in the possession of the passage, even biometrics and scanners for the whole body are planned to be implanted.
