Inactive FGTS withdrawal can make trade and services consume up to $ 1.2 billion

Workers who are entitled to withdrawals from the last batch of withdrawals from the FGTS, which will start being paid tomorrow (8) by Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), will use up to R $ 1.2 Resources in trade and services.

This estimate was made by the Credit Protection Service (SPC Brasil) and the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL) based on CEF’s projection that total payments will reach R $ 3.5 billion.

A survey of these entities in 12 capitals showed that 21% of new beneficiaries intend to use the money in overdue debt settlement, while 20% plan to pay at least a portion of the overdue debt. Of those surveyed, 21% said they would use the ransom for their daily expenses and 22% would save on the savings. A much smaller portion, 7%, intends to spend on travel.

APPLICATIONS

Among the workers already contemplated in the previous phases, 38% plan to pay back debts and 39% intend to reserve the money for day-to-day expenses. A total of 6% used the money in regularizing part of arrears; 12% opted for savings and 7% anticipated payment of credit, home and car installments.

The survey also shows that more than half of consumers (54%) are not entitled to looting and 10% do not know if they have this right.

The survey was conducted in the following capitals: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Recife, Salvador, Fortaleza, Brasilia, Goiânia, Manaus and Belém. Participants were 800 people aged 18 or over, Both sexes and of all social classes. The margin of error was estimated at a maximum of 3,5 percentage points, with a confidence margin of 95%.
