Opportunity: Ministry of Tourism will offer scholarships in the UK

The Ministry of Tourism will offer scholarships for further training courses in the areas of Tourism and Hospitality in the UK, according to a notice published on Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Union. The initiative is part of the International Qualification Program in Tourism and Hospitality (PQI). Entries will be opened on July 17 and interested candidates must access the electronic form on the CAPES page by 5:00 pm Brasília time, August 25, 2017.

The vacancies are destined to students regularly enrolled in courses of baccalaureate, licenciatura, technologist in Tourism and / or Hospitality of institutions of superior education. They are also prerequisites for the selection, among other requirements, to have obtained a score above 600 in the National High School Examination (ENEM); Proof of proficiency in English; In addition to having completed at least 20% and a maximum of 80% of the higher education curriculum.

The duration is approximately 11 weeks with theoretical and practical classes. Allocation of students to international institutions will be the responsibility of the Association of Colleges, another partner of the Ministry of Tourism in the program.

Among those selected in previous editions of the international qualification courses is Luiz Renato Ferreira Gonçalves, 23 years old. Graduated in Tourism in the end of 2016, by the Federal University of São Carlos, he was part of the group of students who went with all the expenses paid by the Ministry of Tourism to England in the period of the end of 2014 and early 2015. Currently hired by the City Hall Votorantim, he evaluates that the international experience was fundamental in his professional formation.
