SWISS registers increase in passengers transported in the first half

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) carried 8,048,233 passengers in the first six months of 2017, 4.4% higher than in the same period of last year.

The increase was achieved despite the fact that 69,089 flights operated represented a 3.8% fall in supply compared to the period from January to June 2016. The figures do not include Edelweiss operations.
Other numbers

System capacity in ASK (available seat-kilometer) increased by 4.9%. The increase was fully absorbed by the growth in traffic volume, which increased by 7.7% in terms of RPK (revenue-passenger-kilometer).

The occupancy rate for the first half also grew, rising 2.1 percentage points to 80.6%.

In June, SWISS carried 1,476,963 passengers, up 3.8% from the same month last year. The 11,878 flights operated represent a reduction in the supply of 5.0%. System capacity (ASK) increased by 3.8%, while volume measured in RPK increased by 5.8%. The rate of utilization of the system rose by 1.6 percentage points to 84.8%.
