Chauve Souris: a charming islet in Seychelles

Praslin is the second largest island of Seychelles and figure among the top three of the archipelago. Home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the Côte d’Or is a favorite among travelers. White sands and a crystalline blue sea are part of the paradisiacal landscape and inspire people from all over the world. From there you can see a small, charming island, located a few hundred meters inland from the sea. Chauve Souris, whose name means bat, is part of the set of granite islands of Seychelles and is perfect for exclusive and intimate holidays.

There is a unique hotel on the island that offers a luxurious and rustic lodging. Chauve Souris Relais has only five rooms, whose characteristics differ from each other and are suspended between sea, sky, rocks and tropical vegetation. Each room has its own name, Admiral, Creole, Farmer, Pirate and Castaway, being the ultimate suite set in smooth rocks and perfect for younger couples. All have a living room, spa bath and balcony. Children are accepted from the age of 12. The restaurant produces Creole dishes, typical of the region, as well as international cuisines with an emphasis on Italian gastronomy. The diet includes all meals, including water and coffee.

Besides the beautiful beach surrounded by palm trees and sun loungers for those who want to spend a relaxing afternoon, guests can also participate in activities or make excursions that are offered on the Côte d’Or beach. It is possible, for example, to take a half-day trip on the island Curieuse, which houses 250 giant tortoises, or visit the famous Vallée de Mai, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a forest in Praslin where the rare coconut of mer is grown. For those who want to spend the day getting to know other places, you can go to another island, about half an hour by boat from the resort called Grand Souer. One of its beaches is excellent for snorkelling, since it is easy to see colorful fish and sea turtles. Its second beach is marked by the pink granite boulders and the waves. Another island that is worth to know for a day is La Digue, whose beach Anse Source d’Argent is one of the most beautiful in the world and has a well differentiated landscape with giant granite rock
