The Bourbon network and its facilities contribute daily to the environment and the Bourbon Cataratas Convention & Spa Resort was one of those awarded for these actions. The hotel received the renewable energy certificate from Comerc Energia and Sinerconsult Synergy in Solutions, a result of the partnership between the two companies, which presented a report that counts greenhouse gas emissions avoided due to the use / consumption of electricity from renewable sources .

The methodology for the calculation of GHG Emissions avoided uses procedures of the GHC Protocol Corporate Standard of The Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative that have been used since 2011 and accepted in companies and NGOs from all over the world.

The results of the report, referring to the renewable energy use of Bourbon Falls, cover the period from January to December 2016 and indicate a reduction of 156.15 T CO² eq. These avoided emissions are equivalent to 1093.05 trees in a 30-year reforestation project.
