Carioca airport now has self-tagging

In August, the GIG Cute Club, an organization formed by 22 airlines operating at Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG), will receive new check-in kiosks from Sita, a provider of IT solutions for the airline industry. The new solution adopts self-service, downline queuing technologies with interactive check-in kiosks, bag self-tagging, and baggage delivery and management services that reduce the time passengers spend in line.

With the AirportConnect Open, which allows airports, airlines and their agents to access their IT applications, in real time, in dedicated or shared use equipment, any airline uses any service position, gate, or self-service kiosk to Check-in, baggage check-in and boarding of passengers.

The new generation of Airport Connect also allows airlines to reconcile the passengers on board and share the same payment terminal by credit card (PIN – PAD input device) with magnetic and contactless cards at these points of service, While continuing to use their preferred payment service providers and banks.
