Gastronomy of Pará turns product and tourist route

Since mid-2015 Pará has changed its promotional position by adopting the Pará 2030 project, which encompasses the former See Pará. With a focus on the development of the entire State, the project provides for tourism growth in the region with a focus on nature and culture, having the gastronomy as a strong foundation of Tourism. Thus, to take a little of the gastronomy of Pará to the rest of the country and incite the curiosity of the people, inviting them to know the destination, the state held this week the Festival of Tourism and Gastronomy of Pará. of this Thursday (31/08), in the Capim Santo restaurant in São Paulo, brought two heads from Pará: Ofir Oliveira and Lúcia Torres, who held a tasting menu for the press and trade personalities.

“We want to articulate, in a synergistic way, the promotion of tourism and gastronomy. The Amazon region is very differentiated and we want to show the plurality of the destination through its gastronomy “, explained the Secretary of Tourism of the state Adenauer Góes. According to the authority, the purpose of the secretariat with the Pará 2030 project is to present a new look on tourism, seeing it as a business. Joining the public and private chains.

“We saw in gastronomy an opportunity to turn tourism into a business. New restaurants have started to appear, people go to Pará in search of Acai and are amazed by the gastronomy. NEW ROUTE

Góes also said that the destination is developing new tourist routes. The highlight is the Belém-Bragança route, which has already been announced by the secretary. With the title of largest cocoa producer – in 2016 the state of Bahia, Pará also created a route of Cocoa. Other products include the Marajó Cheese Route, beach and sea circuits, itineraries that pass through riverside communities and itineraries with a focus on gastronomy.
