Park in the United States features two baby tiger cubs

After nearly four months of birth, Animal Kingdom has just announced that visitors will be able to meet the first puppies of the endangered species of tigers-sumatran, to be born in the park. Anala and Jeda, as they are called, will slowly be introduced into the habitat of Maharajah Jungle and may be seen periodically as they become accustomed to the new area.

“We are thrilled to be able to share the first appearance of these lovely tigers in their new habitat,” said Scott Terrell, director of animal and science operations. According to him, Disney participates in the Species Survival Plan, a breeding program through the Zoos and Aquariums Association, which helps ensure a diverse and healthy population of endangered and threatened species in the coming years.

With a trained team, the park’s veterinarians spent three years preparing for the birth of these tigers and worked to provide the necessary care so they can grow and thrive. Part of that work included the creation of a new special backstage area where pups could learn to swim and climb before venturing loose into their habitat at the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
