Campo de Marte, in São Paulo, will have SP park and aerospace museum in Campo de Marte

The President of the Republic, Michel Temer, and the mayor of São Paulo, João Doria, officialized today an agreement that will transform part of the Campo de Marte area into a municipal park, which will have an aerospace museum. The land, about 400 thousand square meters, which has been the subject of a judicial dispute for decades, will be transferred to the municipal administration.

The park, according to the prefecture, will occupy 20% of the Campo de Marte area and has remaining vegetation of the Atlantic Forest. The building of the public park, including the museum, should not affect the green area. According to the city hall, the future park will be the fifth largest in the city, behind the parks Anhanguera, Ibirapuera, Carmo (only visitable area) and Rodeo.

At the ceremony in which the agreement was signed, two documents were signed: a protocol of intent in which the parties involved undertake to formalize, within a maximum period of 90 days, the destination to the municipality of the area; And a release term, which will enable the municipality to immediately initiate the necessary steps for the park and the museum.
