Going to the Bahamas? Check out 3 news to enjoy over there

The Bahamas is experiencing a wave of new ventures, new direct airlines and exciting cultural festivals and sporting events to be tapped at this time. Even with the summer coming to an end, there are still a number of reasons to travel to the Bahamas this fall.

BahaMar Resorts

Last April, Baha Mar opened its doors on Cable Beach with the premiere of the Grand Hyatt. With the addition of two more hotels yet to come – SLS (Fall 2017) and Rosewood Hotel (Spring 2018) – BahaMar will offer three unique resorts including the Caribbean’s largest casino, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, ESPA 30,000-square-foot spa, convention center and more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges.

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort

This spring, the resort has begun its rebranding process that will make it more authentically Bahamian. Harbor Island’s iconic “Sip Sip” is coming to Atlantis in November. Chef Julie Lightbourn will bring her menu to the new poolscape of The Cove with two restaurants – one by the pool and one on the sand, on Paradise Beach.

Atlantis also recently unveiled a renovated Coral Towers, featuring new halls, a new hall in the lobby and its new Marina Village. In April, Atlantis launched Art Walk, a market that opens every Saturday, where guests can support local Bahamian artisans as well as showcase locally produced produce. Several other developments are scheduled for November 2017, also to be announced.

New Delta flight

Delta Airlines has announced the new direct service from Atlanta to As Exumas, Abacos and Eleuthera. The airline launched nonstop service in August to Exuma International Airport (GGT) in Great Exuma and Marsh Harbor International Airport (MHH) in Abaco, and will continue to launch non-stop service to the other Out Islands by August 2018 .
