On the afternoon of Tuesday (31), a mass trampling took place in New York. A man drove for 20 blocks down the bike lane, killing at least eight people. According to the mayor of the city, Bill de Blasio, was an act of terrorism, since, according to him, the driver was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar”, which means “God is great” in Arabic.

Federal officials said that after beating the vehicle, the terrorist got out of the car with fake weapons and was shot by police. The driver was driving a truck from the Home Depot building materials store and hit many people. At least 15 of them were injured, but authorities still assess the exact number of victims.
The crash occurred near a school, Stuyvesant High School, and the driver even collided with a school bus. Students said they saw a man firing from a pickup truck, and then saw the vehicle spin and collide.
A large chunk of the street in question was closed for investigation, as hundreds of police, including the bomb squad, were at the scene.
