In this month of July Punta Del Este celebrates its 110 year anniversary. The schedule that began on the 1st of this month promises to surprise the residents and visitors.
The destination is considered, today, the most luxurious resort in Latin America, frequented by a multitude of tourists from all over the world. The city had its beginning as a colony of fishermen, who soon after the installation of several industries happened to receive the first vacationers of Montevideo and Argentina, that arrived at the port aboard the steam “Golondrina”.
Festivals
In the 1940s, the peninsula became an international destination, when hotels, restaurants and nightclubs began to settle in the region, realizing the potential of the small colony of fishermen. Since then the resort has been positioned as a must-see place for its landscapes and services. Located just an hour and a half from Montevideo, it offers cultural activities like the International Jazz Festival, the Film Festival and exhibitions of renowned artists.
Throughout the month of July, celebrating 110 years, Punta offers a series of activities that spread local history and culture, as well as children’s shows, music and theater. Also included in the agenda are presentations of books, conferences, concerts, cinema and an exhibition of regional products.
Programming:
Enjoy Punta Del Este – has set up an amusement park, available until July 16 with innovative attractions, among them a parachute toy, an Airwheel track with unbalanced unbalance, kart track and a bungee jump, as well as spaces with Inflatable toys. From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
