The 5 most romantic attractions in Jamaica

That Jamaica is a romantic place is not news to anyone. However, you do not have to wait for a special occasion like your own wedding, honeymoon, Valentine’s Day or anniversary of the couple to travel to the Caribbean island. The Jamaica Tourist Office ensures that the destination can be visited by enthusiasts all year round.

Still, the heat of the high season can further heat the mood of love. With that in mind, the island’s travel agency has selected the five must-see destinations for couples visiting Jamaica. “In addition to the incredible blue waters, perfect beaches, inspiring sunsets and sunny days, there are a number of lovely locations worthy of a love of cinema,” they announced.

Check below what they are.

RIO MARTHA BRAE – This is the ideal excursion for those in love, both by nature and by the other. At the Martha Brae River, the couple will enjoy a landscape full of fauna and flora on a 10 meter long ferryboat run by a rafting captain. The ride takes about an hour and fifteen minutes on a journey of 5.5 kilometers. The boat-guiding party will still feature the legend of the river located about three miles from Falmouth and about forty miles from Montego Bay.

LUMINOUS LAGOON – In Jamaica, you may have the opportunity to be a naturally lit pond with your pair, and it is not by the sun. In Falmouth, when visitors move their bodies in the phosphorescent Luminous Lagoon, microscopic organisms stir in the pond making the water all bright and magically shine at night. The phenomenon is rare and is only seen in three places in the world. There is a daily 45 minute walk that is a tourist boat that leaves the Marina Glistening Waters for a visit to the lagoon.

LOVER’S LEAP – A 518-meter cliff in South Coast is another romantic option on the Caribbean island. The Lovers’ Leap offers one of the most picturesque views of Jamaica. Enjoy this stunning island setting side by side with your passion as you learn more about the history of the cliff: legend has it that two young slaves and lovers jumped to the death, fearing they would be separated if the secret love story surfaced .

BLUE MOUNTAINS – The tropical fog at the top of the iconic Blue Mountains creates the scenery of dreams with an almost heavenly aura above the island. Couples can feel reclusive and far from the rest of the world experiencing the magic of this place on a bike tour to explore where one of the most expensive coffees in the world is grown. Daily cycling tours last three hours and allow travelers the chance to get to know a little of Jamaican culture, with stops at historic sites along the way.

HELICOPTER TRIP – However, if Lover’s Leap and the Blue Mountains are not enough for you and your love to feel on top of the world, there is still the possibility of a helicopter flight through Jamaica. The flight departs from Montego Bay airport (pictured) bound for the casual capital of Negril. The journey of about 20 minutes gives tourists a unique view of the island and the beautiful coast.
