Toll increases in stretch of BR-116 linking Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo

The toll rate of the BR-116, in the stretch from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo, will be adjusted from 0h next Friday (4). The highway is under the responsibility of the concessionaire CCR Nova Dutra since 1995, for the exploitation of the infrastructure for the period of 25 years.

According to the National Land Transport Agency, increases in the squares of Moreira César, Itatiaia and Viúva Graça, for category 1 vehicles, went from R $ 13.80 to R $ 14.40; In Arujá, Guararema Norte and Guararema Sul, the tariff for vehicles of the same category increases from R $ 3.40 to R $ 3.50; And in the square of Jacareí, from R $ 6.10 to R $ 6.30.

According to Nova Dutra, in 21 years of concession, the company has invested more than R $ 17 billion in the modernization of the highway, including the construction of works, acquisition of equipment, operation and payment of taxes. In taxes, the concessionaire collected a further R $ 3.38 billion, of which R $ 663.05 million was paid in Services Tax to the 36 cities served by the highway.

“The resources were and continue to be applied in operational improvements, in the modernization and conservation of Via Dutra. Since the start of the concession, the number of deaths on the highway has dropped 84%, considering the increase in traffic volume in the period, “says the concessionaire.
