Traffic in Dubai airport exceeds 43 million passengers

Traffic at Dubai International Airport surpassed 43 million passengers in the first half of 2017, according to Dubai Airports report. The number represents an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period last year.

The modest growth occurred due to the month of Ramadan falling in June, a month traditionally of little movement. There was an increase of 3.9% compared to the same month of 2016.

Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said: “We will continue to focus on improving the quality of service at Dubai International Airport, bringing new experiences and services to engaging and entertaining our customers.”

In terms of percentage growth per continent, the highlights were: South America (36.4%), Eastern Europe (28.7%) and Asia (18.7%).
